Unfortunately, there is no 'one size fits all' type of treatment for acne.  Acne is a chronic skin condition that, to some extent, is the result of a number of different causes.   Thus, many people who suffer from acne find it most effective to combine a number of different acne treatments.  Persons who are ultra sensitive and wish to avoid the side effects of traditional medicine have found that some alternative, natural treatments for acne have been effective. (Note:  Visit our article, Treatments for Adult Acne, which explains many of the alternative therapies discussed here.)

Clear-Ac, Acne Cleanser

Clear-Ac, Acne Cleanser

Clear-Ac Cleanser is a cleansing, healing, soothing lotion especially formulated for teenage acne sufferers but will also benefit skin irritations, at any age.

Herbal Remedies for Acne

Herbal remedies area a potent form of alternative acne treatments and are particularly appeal to persons who suffer from side effects from traditional acne medication.  The most reported problem with herbal acne remedies is that they usually take at least a month before having any positive effect. There have been few scientific studies undertaken to determine the effectiveness of herbal acne treatments. (Be sure to take a look at Neem, a tremendously effective herbal remedy for acne that's less than $10.)

Home Remedies for Acne

Home acne remedies are a great alternative for pricey medicated acne treatments. Unfortunately, there are few scientific research findings as to the effectiveness of home acne remedies.  Like the herbal remedies, results are not as immediate as traditional acne medications, but home remedies have fewer side effects.

Natural Acne Treatments

Natural acne treatments also tend to take time before they are effective and are free of side effects.  As with other alternative acne treatments, there are few scientific studies.  Most research on acne treatment concerns synthetic treatments that are funded by the drug companies.
